Dean Chalkley
Originally setting out to be a fashion designer taking up Tailoring, Chalkley took a turn in his career and became a photographer. He studied at Blackpool and the Fylde College completing his photography degree.
Since photographing for Dazed & Confused magazine (1998) he's continued to illustrate his love for Culture and music, working with different publications, record companies ad fashion brands.
Dean quoted: 'A camera is a passport, investigating other peoples' lives'. I rather liked this quote...
He's photographed such celebs: Simon Cowell, Russell Brand, Nick Grimshaw, band members from Oasis Noel & Liam Gallagher; and for such publications like NME magazine.
Creating work for album covers, Dean said in fact he isn't a music photographer but he does enjoy his music. Instead he likes to spread himself across the genres.
As well as photography, Dean is also a film maker; working recently on a short film: The New Faces. His films are often quite personal & experimental.
