Group Crit

I showed only a minimal amount of work during the group crit but received great feedback to help me go forward with my project for this brief.I’d been struggling for research looking into landscapes and sky views but none seemed relevant or inspiring to push me into the next stage. We reviewed my Pinterest and a board featuring textile pieces was picked out for its textures and colours which worked very closely to my subject of healing crystals. From my test shoots it was also noticed how I planned on creating soft images to reflect on healing but photographing such contrast colours against a white background actually created a harshness. This influenced me to think about using gels underneath the infinity backdrop so that the colour will be soft and cut out a lot of the white. With this James also considered getting close with the objects to create this idea of a landscape from the edges of the crystals. With the gel creating colour this could create something very interesting and manipulating for the viewer.The group crit has certainly been helpful and given me direction of where to go next. Before I was only confident with my subject and the objects, no research to back me up or develop my current work.
