Getting the camera back out: Motocross

Yes, I did tuck away the camera for a short period. However that's not to say I stopped taking photos as I'm always wondering about with my iPhone capturing my family or the colours of the sunset.
My boyfriend, Alex is passionate about Motocross and has been from a young age. I've been with him for over two years now and throughout that time I have joined him on the track with my camera. Motocross is not my area of interest in both sport or photography however I love to photograph and support him. I take photos and videos of him practising on the tracks for him to reflect on and keep. Despite this I always feel that I can't achieve a good enough shot because I am a MASSIVE wimp and won't go too close to the track. My reasons are 1) stones can flick up and either damage the camera or myself and 2) some of the tracks are difficult to walk around and the clumsy person I am will end up in the stinging nettles. Therefore I need to sort myself a larger lens to zoom in on the action. The lenses I own at the moment are not good enough for the close ups that I want to achieve.
Having photographed Alex I also got asked by his sister to take some of her boyfriend who also rides Motocross. She was looking to have an image placed on a canvas as a present for his birthday. I felt slightly pressured however she was pleased with a few of them and managed to find one she liked enough to print.

Here are a few of my favourite images that I've taken recently...
