Potential careers for my practice in the photographic industry

How many different careers are open to you?
Photo journalism always comes to mind when I think about my practice within the industry. My images are mostly of people and their surroundings. They are a narrative and very subjective. I haven't looked into much depth about photojournalism however I don't think it is a career I want to consider. When I lost my mother we had the press round, interviewing and photographing us. Yes it was great to get my mothers incredible story out there but it was the last thing we wanted to do. However when I look back I would of hated the photographers job. Standing in front of them young children and a widow who look completely empty inside. I believe in situations like that I would struggle immensely. However I am not crossing it completely off my options but it's not at the top.

My recent projects have been based around health and medical care as I document about grief and the effects it has on an individual, such as depression. Advertisement and especially for campaigns would be ideal for my style of work. It needs to show awareness but also tug on the heart strings which I believe my work can achieve. Such campaigns are spotted on posters, TV adverts, leaflets, etc.

Editorial is also another potential career that I could consider. I noticed in Time Magazine that their content is very much documentary based. It consists of health and science, politics, business, society and entertainment, all of which can be captured in a documentary style.

Lifestyle photography such as weddings, newborn photography, etc is also available to me. I have completed such photographs outside of university for clients. Therefore I have already started to find experience for myself.
