Retouching Masterclass with Nick Nedeljkovic of Happy Finish

This workshop probably didn't apply to my practice at all. I don't manipulate my images very much at all in Photoshop, I will only tweak what I feel is necessary. For example the tones and colours may need adjusting so that I get a coherent set of images. My knowledge is minimal but my interest is more in taking the photograph than it is to edit. However I went along to see if it could change my mind and see how these high end images format. It was quite an interesting session to see some of the work put together through CGI and more.

Nick showed us the before and after shots he had completed for various companies. Some were very interesting and I would have never imagined the before image looking anything like the after image!
One in particular was the image of David Attenborough for SKY. There was separate images on a white page of David himself, alongside the rest of nature around him. The images on their own did not have the impact that they do here. This image brings them to life. Nick said something about CGI but also how it takes more than just one editing process to put it all together and a collaboration of people.
